Meet the winners of the Film Fly Experience Australia Video Competition

Students from schools in Bangalore, New Delhi, Noida, Mumbai and Trichy have won study trips to Australian Universities as part of the Film Fly Experience Australia – Australia Future Unlimited Schools Video Competition. Awards were presented today to the winners of Film Fly Experience Australia Video Competition in New Delhi.

The competition attracted participation from students in grades 9 to 11 from over 539 schools across India. Participating students developed short films around the themes of:

  • Cyber Security and modern threats
  • Learn Analytics: Doing Right, Doing Smart
  • The Business of Sustainable Event Tourism in India and the Gold Coast, Australia
  • Foods of the Future: How to feed the world with diminishing resources
  • Design a home for the future

The winners of the competition organised by the Australian Trade & Investment Commission (Austrade) in association with HDFC Credila are:

  • Cyber Security and modern threats – Tagore International School, New Delhi (Macquarie University Partner)
  • Learn Analytics : Doing Right, Doing Smart – Kothari International School, Noida (RMIT University Partner)
  • The Business of Sustainable Event Tourism in India and the Gold Coast, Australia – Trinity International School, Mumbai (Southern Cross University Partner)
  • Foods of the Future: How to feed the world with diminishing resources - Alpha Wisdom Vidyashram Senior Secondary School, Trichy (University of Queensland Partner)
  • Design a home for the future – Bangalore International School, Bangalore (University of South Australia Partner)

Students along with teachers from each of the winning schools will travel to Australia to participate in an all-expenses paid student experience to the sponsoring Universities between May to July 2018.

Speaking about the competition, Leonie Muldoon, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner – South Asia, Australian Trade and Investment Commission said, “Australian Universities are committed to uniquely equipping students for not only their future careers but also “Careers of the Future” An objective of the Film Fly Experience Australia competition is to broaden the horizons of Indian students and provide them new study options to consider. It was a wonderful opportunity for Indian students to exhibit their creative talents. We congratulate all the winners and look forward to welcoming them to Australia.”

“As of December 2017, there are close to 87,615 Indian student enrolments across Australia’s education and training providers. We would like to invite more Indian students to study in Australia in courses related to archaeology, earth & marine sciences, mineral & mining engineering, environmental sciences, nursing, pharmacy & pharmacology and veterinary science, where Australia is a world leader and a significant international education destination for emerging or future careers in areas ranging from technology, digital, robotics, media & entertainment, scientific research, health, future materials. These programmes will provide Indian students the foundation for a global career in areas of future employment growth”, said Leonie Muldoon.

The Film Fly Experience Australia schools video competition was sponsored by Macquarie University, RMIT University, Southern Cross University, The University of Queensland, University of South Australia, Qantas, Allianz Global Assistance and Iglu.
