The University of Nottingham is offering scholarships to Indian students who have achieved high scores in class XII examinations and have an offer to start an undergraduate course in law from the university.
The India Standard XII Excellence Scholarship for Law will be awarded to students who score 90% or above, and have an offer to start a full-time degree (BA or LLB) from the Nottingham’s School of Law in September 2017. Students cannot apply for the scholarship unless they have an offer in hand from the university.
To apply for the scholarship, you only need to accept the university’s offer and submit your Class XII results by 1 August 2017. There is no need to make a separate application.
Depending on your marks, the university will award a scholarship between 2500 to 5000 GBP towards tuition fees in the first year only. This sum will be automatically deducted from the total fees you need to pay.
The scholarship can also be combined with other undergraduate scholarships from the university, such as the India Undergraduate High Achiever Prize and India Undergraduate High Achiever Prize (School Specific).
At University of Nottingham’s School of Law, students can study for a BA or LLB in Law, and also combine it with languages like French, German & Spanish. The School awards Qualifying Law Degrees. Therefore, graduates are exempt from the whole of the Common Professional Examination (CPE)/Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) of the Law Society and the Bar.
Graduates from the University of Nottingham are eligible to practice overseas, subject to meeting the jurisdictions' conditions, in countries like India, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore, where entry to the Bar can be attained.
