Dr. Ashok Gupta

	Dr. Ashok Gupta Professor and former Dean Alumni Affairs and International Programs, IIT Delhi

Dr. Ashok Gupta is Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Delhi. He obtained his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT Delhi in 1979 and PhD, also from IIT Delhi, in 1984. He has about three decades of research and teaching experience in India and abroad. He has supervised PhD thesis, several M.Tech. and B.Tech projects. Professor Ashok Gupta is the author of a book on Fatigue Behaviour of Offshore Structures and an eBook, Interactive Engineering Mechanics: Statics, along with more than sixty papers in leading journals and peer reviewed conferences. His areas of specialization include earthquake engineering, health monitoring of structures and e-learning. He has held visiting research and teaching appointments at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, USA), École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL, Switzerland) and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). He has been Professor in charge Planning from 2004 to 2007 and Dean of Alumni Affairs and International Programmes at IIT Delhi from 2007 to 2011.
