In this global online competition, participants were expected to create digital postcards on how an Australian education could help advance their future endeavours. Seven finalists were taken on a two week study tour in Australia. Almost 37,000 entries were received from 190 countries.
“The Australian Government is determined to encourage the development of a strong international education sector. So I’m pleased the ‘Win your future unlimited’ competition carried the Australian education story to the world,” said Australian Trade and Investment Minister Andrew Robb.
Uttam Kumar is a an IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), New Delhi 2014 graduate. The competition has won him one year’s study and accommodation, a NAB bank account of $ 15000 (AUD), return flights from Australia, and an internship opportunity, among other benefits.
Uttam plans to watch the 2015 cricket world cup, visit beaches, and hopes to create environmentally friendly natural materials while studying at UNSW.
