If you’re an athlete, and looking to keep up with your sport at university abroad, there are plenty of options – most schools offer athletic clubs and programmes for students to get involved in.
However, if you’re particularly good at a sport and able to play on a competitive level, there may be more options out there for you in terms of scholarships and special financial aid packages available for athletes.
DO make an effort to relay your athletic interest to the admissions officers at the university you are applying to, and ask them for leads on who to talk to regarding your particular sport. DO also talk to your athletic coaches in school and see if they can offer extra guidance too.
In the U.S., playing sport at the University level is extremely competitive – especially if you want to play at a large or very well-known university – but having good grades in school helps.
