Dr. Sumit Dutta is Vice-President and General Manager of Quest Diagnostics India Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Quest Diagnostics Incorporated (NYSE: DGX). In this role, he is responsible for leading Quest Diagnostics' business operations in India, including sales & marketing, operations, and management of administrative support functions to accomplish strategic goals. Under Dr. Dutta's leadership, Quest Diagnostics is creating an environment of quality, integrity and success for its patients, customers and employees and to seize market opportunities while optimizing the use of resources and capital. Throughout his career of over 21 years in the hospital environment and private industry, Dr. Dutta has held key leadership roles of increasing importance. He joined Quest Diagnostics in 2010 from Medco Health Solutions, the $66b US-based health care company serving the needs of more than 60 million people through clinically driven pharmacy services employing more than 24,000 people, where he served as Senior Vice President, Physician Strategy and Advocacy. Previously Dr. Dutta was President of Accredo Nova Factor, a specialty pharmacy division of Medco's Accredo Health Group, and prior to that he served as Medco's Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Health Plans. Dr. Dutta has also served on the Board of Directors of National Medical Fellowships, a 61-year-old non-profit charitable organization that is focused on increasing diversity among US physicians and has awarded $39 million in financial support to more than 28,000 minority men and women. Earlier, Dr. Dutta worked in the hospital industry for over 8 years at New York University Health Center, Rush University Medical Center and University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Dutta received his medical degree from Michigan State University. He also holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Wayne State University and a master's degree in business administration from New York University's Stern School of Business. |
