Dr. Senthil Nathan has been serving as the Vice Provost of the largest university in the UAE - the Higher Colleges of Technology since 2006. Dr. Nathan has 25 years of progressive experience in USA and UAE, in strategic and operational planning, academic management, teaching, research, engineering consultancy and planning. His academic qualifications are from world class universities: Ph.D. in engineering from Rice University-Houston; leadership and management training from Harvard and MIT; teaching certification from Cambridge University; and Master's degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Science-Bangalore. Dr. Nathan received highest honors and recognition in academic achievements both at Rice University and in IISc. Prior to taking up the current position, he served as the College Director of Abu Dhabi Men's College from 2005-2006, as Dean of Engineering, IT & Health Science divisions from 2000-2005 and as Chair of Civil & Mechanical Engineering from 1995-2000. His several years of consulting experience include senior planner with Educansult (Toronto) and project engineer at Walter P. Moore & Associates, Houston. He worked as a research fellow at Rice University for four years. He has taken a lead role as the conference director for Education Without Borders and Festival of Thinkers since the first edition of these prestigious conferences. His honorary appointments include Member of Higher Education Task Force of Abu Dhabi and as Jury of United Nations Habitat for Humanity Awards. Dr. Nathan has published and presented in several international conferences. |
