Arun Kapur has over three decades of experience in the field of education. He is currently the Director of Vasant Valley School in New Delhi, which he helped start. He is actively engaged in building diverse learning environments catering to a varied group of learners from rural and urban areas in India and abroad. He is an active member of multiple forums on improving education policy and planning, including the MHRD's Committee on School Leadership Programme, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, CABE Committee of CABE on Extension of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Act to pre-school and secondary education, General Body of the National Council for Teacher Education, Punjab Education Development Board, NIIT University and CII's National Committee on Education. He heads Learn Today, the Learning Division of The India Today Group that advises on setting up new schools, which are centres of excellence, across the country and abroad. In 1995, Arun Kapur set up Ritinjali, a non-governmental organization that strives for the development of the community through education and constructive work among marginalised societies across India. He is also the author of two acclaimed books on school education - Transforming Schools: Empowering Children and Leading Out.
